The nice thing about that was that she found a better way to deal with him, which is to stop him from arguing. They are just going to watch TV. MW: [ Laughs. Glamour: Very true. Glamour: Before that moment on the couch, I loved that Danny walked in on Mindy in the floor of the doctors lounge with her hand stuck in the vending machine. She couldn't have been more authentically herself in that moment. She wasn't putting on airs around him. Was that something you guys were thinking of when you did that scene?
MW: Actually, we just thought it was one last funny sight gag for the character. Instead of doing that, he just quietly helps her. I think that by itself shows just how much that character has grown. Glamour: It was also great to see Mindy back on the bicycle in this episode, as an ode to the pilot. How long had you planned to link the two episodes that way? MW: I hope the audience remembers that far back to the pilot episode! That idea came later in the process, as we were writing these last 10 episodes.
We wanted to bookend that, [which we did, but with] Morgan and Tamra's wedding. MW: Yes, absolutely. We have a whole lifetime to figure some of these things out. Life is a work in progress. How did you guys decide on that particular song? A month there, and then be gone. I want you to do movies and stuff. It was really kind of a no-brainer. It was an incredible time of my life. She totally was very cool about that.
TVLINE In this last year, in your last big hurrah, did you have any hope or fear that they were going to ask you to dance again? You know, I really ended up trusting everybody and all the writers. If they felt like the show or the character needed to dance, I would have danced. There were episodes where I was triathalon-running, half naked and being carried by Ike [Barinholtz]. I did whatever they wanted me to do, because most of the time, they were right.
But I would have done whatever they wanted. There was a scene early on where I was on the news for some reason. TheWrap has ranked the 16 highest- and 15 lowest-rated there were ties, chill television series based on their Nielsen ratings to-date.
To be fair at both ends of this study, we did not include any shows with fewer than four episodes to calculate. By the way, we looked at just entertainment series only, so no sports or news programming. That eliminated all NFL games and shows like "60 Minutes. All ratings in this story come from Nielsen's "most current" data stream, which includes a week's worth of delayed viewing where available.
And spinoff "Young Sheldon" would have been No. After all these years, the revived sitcom is still "Must-see TV," based on its early Nielsen returns.
